Queensland 2 shilling colour trials

Here are various Queensland 2/- colour trials of the 2 shilling which was issued in March 1889, so presumably the colour trials were printed in early 1889. It is interesting that these all seem to be comb perforated 12.75 and not line perforated 12 as one would expect given that the comb perforating machine was only obtained in 1890.

2/- Colour Trial in Orange perforation 12¾ on Crown over Q wmk gummed paper

This is a 2/ colour trial in orange that had a manuscript fiscal cancel "29/10/93 [?]" which was cleaned-off and the stamp then regummed. Auctioned here.

A used (registered) 2/- possibly Colour Trial in Orange perforation 121/4 on Crown over Q wmk. The bottom right corner is brown, as is the top right corner, to a lesser extent. The rest of the stamp is orange-brown / dull orange. It is a lot more orangey than appears in the scan. Placed next to brown or red-brown examples of this issue it appears to be a completely different colour. Could this be caused by a chemical reaction, or is it a used colour trial issue?
